Our Thoughts Become Our Reality
But What Does That Really Mean?

Our thoughts become our reality. I've heard this so many times in my life and never truly understood what it means. It's something that sounds so simple but has a profound depth of understanding within that quite literally changes our lives.
Let us start with the most obvious way in which we might think this would apply to our lives. When we think about how we crave a certain food, we're able to go out into the world, find a supermarket and purchase that particular food. We have used our mind to picture this before it has happened and we have then acted upon it and made it so.
We operate in this way every single day, planning food shops, journeys in the car or washing the dishes. We use our thoughts in this way to master the material world in which we live.
We can also use our thoughts to imagine new futures, inventors and creatives enabled by technological advances can come up with incredible new ideas that they are able to bring into the world through the power of their thoughts. Pioneers of our time are often described as visionaries, able to project an idea into the physical world. This is thoughts becoming reality. We imagined we could fly like the birds, before the invention of flight that would have seemed impossible to all but those able to imagine. Now we have wingsuits and helicopters!
The depth of the thoughts becoming our reality isn't truly appreciated by everyone, it's easy to overlook the negative thoughts we have. If we lack imagination, or have a lack mindset, where we imagine ourselves stuck in our current situation then strangely enough we remain stuck in our situation as a result. We are the single biggest hurdle to our own success, we can keep ourselves trapped as a victim of our own minds for eternity. From personal experience this is why depression can hit us so hard, we can quickly spiral downwards with negativity to a place of deep despair. One so dark it's impressive we have imagined it with such painful details. We become a prisoner to our own mind's thoughts.
There is light to this darkness, it comes from the realisation that we are in control. We have the power to make changes to our thought patterns that in turn will bring us to a place we imagine, a place of positivity. Is it really so hard to imagine our own success when we have been able to imagine our own demise so effortlessly?
This might come as a shock to you but our minds are incredible when it comes to the growth of the seeds we plant. The soil of our minds to which we plant these seeds are extremely fertile. They will grown the poisonous plant just as abundantly as the health giving one. If we imagine our mind as a garden of thoughts. Each one planted and tended to as often as we spend thinking about them. It's then simple to see that if we keep thinking about the negative poison in our lives we will be nurturing those the most and be creating our own suffering as a result. The beauty about this garden is that we can just as simply switch from tending the weeds to removing them and replacing them with beautiful flowers.
I firmly believe we are all capable of living a life that we dream of because our dreams are our thoughts and our thoughts really do become our reality.
